Halving Event Highlights Cryptocurrency Benefits
Once every four years, the Bitcoin blockchain experiences an event known as 'Bitcoin Halving', where the rewards miners gain from working to add blocks to the Bitcoin blockchain are halved in size. This is what is coded to limit the amount of Bitcoin that can exist, ensuring its scarcity and value.
The latest halving event occurred on Monday 11th May and whilst cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, have seen volatile price fluctuations recently, a halving event usually heralds an increase in price.
