Blockpass Newsletter - Cryptography for Contact Tracing, BIL News

June 2020
This week we have an exciting new update to bring you in our newsletter. The Blockpass Identity Lab has recently produced some research papers which Blockpass has had the opportunity to read. In our blog this week we give an overview of what one of papers discusses, with an examination of how to create secure and privacy-focused pandemic contact tracing solutions. We also highlight a couple of previous articles, one on our offer to healthcare and medical organizations for COVID-19 solutions and another looking back at an older but significant event - the launch of the BIL. Our Marketplace Offers section highlights ways in which Blockpass users can use their digital identities, with some special offers exclusive to Blockpass users and a new option for users with AdvancedFX. Finally, we sit down with PhD candidate Will Abramson in our 5 Minutes With section. Keep an eye out for a big announcement we hope to release next week!

How Cryptography Can Aid COVID-19 Contact Tracing

More than couple of years ago, Blockpass began talking to some brilliant minds at Edinburgh Napier University about all things, cryptography, privacy, blockchain and identity. After a couple of meetings and discussions, it was decided that some sort of collaboration was in order to work on what turned out to be a large number of shared areas of interest.

This partnership led to the launch of the Blockpass Identity Lab in September 2018, and since then, groundbreaking work has been going on around the topics of cryptography, privacy and identity. Research from the lab has been shared with Blockpass recently and this week we have an overview of one of the papers written by the researchers. Click here to read our latest blog about how this work can be used for COVID-19 contact tracing in a privacy-centric manner, and keep an eye out for more news from the lab to come soon!

KYC Opportunities for COVID-19 Testing

A couple of months ago we published news that we were seeking to work with organizations and companies on CODIV-19 screening and infection status verification. Our goal with this is to bring privacy, security and user-centric solutions through the use of our identity verification services.

We have already begun some conversations but we are looking to partner with more companies that requires means to ensure privacy in patient identification, and encourage entities such as medical clinics and testing centres to get in touch with us as we all work to combat the effects of COVID-19.
